DUO SPACE
Terms
The basic terms for using Duo Space.
Updated October 28, 2026Invitation links and QR codes
Create a link or QR code in the app's space invitation screen and share it only with the intended person. The web page checks availability without showing names or private content, joining the space, or using the invitation. The recipient must sign in and explicitly confirm joining in the app. After installing, return to the link or paste it on the join screen. Links can expire or be revoked; creating a new link invalidates the previous one. If WeChat cannot open the app, use its top-right menu to open the link in your system browser.
Leaving, dissolving and recovering spaces
Either member can leave a two-person space and lose access. The remaining member keeps a read-only archive and cannot add content or invite someone new. Dissolving a shared space requires both members' confirmation. A space with one member can be deleted. Deleting or mutually dissolving a space closes access and releases its space slots for a seven-day recovery period. Cleanup starts after that period and may take longer during a service failure. Restoring a two-person space requires both members' consent and a new space-limit check for both accounts. An archive still uses one space slot and remains read-only after recovery. New space creation pauses when 20 closed spaces are awaiting recovery, until recovery or cleanup brings that count below the limit; deleting a space remains available. Account deletion is separate and cannot be undone by restoring a space.
Membership and space limits
Free accounts can use up to 3 spaces with 250 MB of photos per space. A Duo Plus purchaser can use up to 20 spaces, with 2048 MB (2 GB) of photos in each space they belong to, shared by both members. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew through Apple until canceled. Legacy subscribers keep their existing pricing arrangement, and existing lifetime access remains valid without renewal. Shared Plus enhancements apply only to spaces containing the purchaser and do not carry over to other spaces. After access expires, existing enhanced content remains readable and exportable; creating or editing enhancements requires active access. Prices, trial eligibility and purchase terms are shown in the app and Apple's confirmation. If access ends, existing content remains readable, while new spaces and photo uploads follow the free limits. Manage cancellations and refund requests through Apple.
Long-term supporter reward
36 Apple-verified paid subscription months qualify for permanent Plus on the same Duo account, subject to normal Plus limits. Monthly periods count as one month and annual periods as twelve. Overlapping periods, free trials, sandbox transactions, refunds and revoked purchases do not count. History must be verified; later refunds may invalidate a reward. Turn off automatic renewal with Apple and refresh membership before claiming. The account-bound reward is not an Apple lifetime purchase, cannot be transferred, and never cancels or refunds Apple billing. Existing lifetime benefits and legacy prices are preserved.
Your account
Register with a sign-in method you are entitled to use and keep your account secure. Invite another person only if they want to join.
Your content
You keep your rights to what you upload. You allow Duo Space to process it as needed to store, sync, and show it to the other space member. Do not upload content you cannot share or that violates others’ rights or the law.
Shared spaces
Both members can see content in a space. If you delete your account, the other member may retain shared content in that space. Please consider this before sharing.
Service and support
We aim to keep the service available and address reasonable reliability and security issues. Network, cloud, or device failures may affect sync. Contact us through the help page if something goes wrong.
